Street Pastors are trained volunteers from local churches who care about their community. They patrol in teams of men and women, usually from 10.00pm to 4.00am on a Friday and Saturday night to care for, listen to and help people out on the streets.
Toilet Twinning helps fund water and sanitation projects enabling families to build a toilet, have access to clean water, and to learn about handwashing and other hygiene principles. Dignity is restored when the whole family can use a private, hygienic toilet at their home and no longer have to squat in the bush.
SOUTHCHURCH
They provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in a crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Everyone is equal in the sight of God. For over 75 years, this truth has inspired us to stand together in solidarity with our most marginalised global neighbours, of all faiths and none. Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. We seek to eradicate extreme poverty by tackling its root causes. Together with people living in poverty, we amplify our voices to speak truth to power and create lasting change.
We are on a mission to release thousands of families from grinding poverty through award-winning debt counselling and community groups. By equipping and empowering local churches to reach out on their doorsteps, we are bringing hope to tens of thousands of people every year.
